Airbus DS Houston Overview

Airbus DS Houston, previously known as Astrium North America, is located near the Johnson Space Center in Houston Texas. With a rich heritage of hardware and software products plus training and support services, Airbus DS Houston continues to provide quality products and services to meet the stringent needs of Aerospace.

Airbus DS Houston owned and operated a fleet of Integrated Cargo Carriers during the Space Shuttle era. The ICC program ran for 12 successful missions and carried tons of cargo to the International Space Station using the Space Shuttle. The ICC program was comprised of the physical hardware, integration assistance and coordination, mission operations, training, international communications and planning. Some of the ICC platforms are now permanently mounted for external storage on the ISS.

Today, Airbus DS Houston personnel are involved in developing new platforms for the ISS, including the Nanoracks External Platform (NREP). The NREP hosts experiments on the outside of the ISS with power and data communications. Now, your experiment can experience space without the need for cubesat-type electrical, communication, navigational and propulsion systems and you get your experiment returned from space when complete.

Airbus also provides superior support to NASA in terms of simulation platform support, astronaut training, software development, international partner liaison and logistics and many other disciplines.
